made Philly Cheesesteak stuffed Shells today. so delicious and simple - a great weekday meal if you are in a hurry. My son took 2 helpings...
Sadly I didn't find the proper big shell pasta so I could not really stuff the noodles but I used regular shells and layered and it worked nicely maybe not a rich as the original version.

Please make sure you use all ingredients as stated and follow the recipe for best results it is very tasty and pure pleasure to boys :-)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper diced
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  •  tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese cut into small cubes (divided)
  • 24 jumbo pasta shells cooked
  • 1 tablespoon  cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk (I used whole)
  •  cup beef broth
Note: click on times in the instructions to start a kitchen timer while cooking.
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add the ground beef to a large cast iron skillet (this browns very well) and brown until a deep brown crust appears before breaking the beef apart.
  3. Stir the ground beef and brown until a deep crust appears on about 50 or so percent of the beef.
  4. Remove the beef (you can leave the fat) and add the butter and the onions and bell peppers.
  5. Let brown for 1-2 minutes before stirring, then let brown for another 1-2 minutes before stirring again.
  6. Add the beef back into the pan.
  7. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper into the pan and stir.
  8. Take it off the heat and scoop it into the pasta shells.
  9. Top each shell with cubes of cheese (use half the cheese for this).
  10. Using the same pan add the beef broth, milk, and cornstarch and whisk before turning the heat back on.
  11. Add in the rest of the cheddar cheese a little at a time while whisking for 3-5 minutes or until thickened.
  12. Pour about half the sauce around the shells.
  13. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
  14. Serve with the remaining sauce.

ich hatte die Tage solche Lust auf ein Philly Cheesesteak - das ist ein amerikanisches Gericht das ich sehr mag - ist eher ein Sandwich mit einer käsigen Füllung und Rindfleisch... Ich hatte neulich auf Pinterest oder überfliegen einiger Blogs mit Freude gesehen wow damit werden auch Nudelmuscheln gefüllt... super... Leider habe ich gestern in keinem Supermarkt die schönen großen Nudeln zum füllen gefunden, aber kleinere - also habe ich etwas experimientiert - war ok aber nicht so gut wie das Original - hier das Rezept aus dem Blog dinnerthendessert - ist die Originalversion!

Macht in 40 Min ein tolles Männergericht - mein Sohn hat 2 Portionen gegessen :-)

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 g mageres Rinderhack
  • EL Butter
  • 1 Zwiebel, gehackt
  • 1 Paprika, grün, kleine Würfel
  • 2 EL Ketchup
  •  EL Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 TL Salz
  • 1/2 TL schwarzer Pfeffer
  • 250 g Cheddar Käsewürfel klein
  • 24 große Nudelmuscheln, gekocht 
  • 1 EL Maisstärke
  • 1 Tasse Vollmilch
  •  Tasse Rinderbrühe
  1. Backofen auf 180 Grad vorheizen.
  2. Hackfleisch in einer schweren Pfanne bräunen und durchbraten. In kleine Stücke brechen mit Spatel.
  3. Hack aus der Pfanne nehmen und zu Seite stellen und in der gleichen Pfanne Paprika und Zweibeln anbraten.
  4. ca 3-4 Min
  5. Hackfleisch zurückgeben.
  6. Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Salz, and Pfeffer dazugebe und verrühren.
  7. Vom Herd nehmen und die Nudelmuscheln in einer Auflaufform mit Füllung füllen und einem TL Frischkäse.
  8. Jede Muschel mit 1 Käsewürfel toppen.
  9. In der gleichen Pfanne Milch, Stärke verrühren.
  10. restlichen Käse dazugeben und cremige Sause herstellen durch ständiges Rühren.
  11. Die Sauce auf die Muscheln geben.
  12. Im Backofen für 10 Min backen.
  13. Restliche Sauce über die Muscheln geben vor dem Servieren .
